BRIGHT SKY might seem like a strange name for a design firm located in a city renowned for its gray skies and drizzle. We chose the name to reflect our optimism for the future and our love of the natural world, which are two values that inspire us on even the darkest afternoon in January.
Bright Sky Design is an architectural design firm focused on residential projects of every size – from remodeling projects to new houses to projects with multiple units. We collaborate with a team of engineers, landscape architects and interior designers to create homes that are inspiring, thoughtful, and sustainable.
Our clients include homeowners with big plans for the future, builders who appreciate a great set of plans, and real estate developers who are looking for insight that can unlock the potential of a site.
Meet The Team
BOYD PICKRELL is the founding principal of Bright Sky Design. For many years, he designed large mixed-use and multi-family buildings and managed an office with over 30 team members. More recently, he led the in-house design team for a local home building company specializing in row houses, town houses and other urban infill projects.
In 2020, he founded Bright Sky Design to experience the rewards of running his own business and to collaborate with interesting clients on fun projects. In addition to running Bright Sky Design, he is exploring real estate development opportunities and experimenting with general contracting.
